Ah, then I have a special spot in your favor, don't I? I'll be certain to take advantage of it in the future. Next time, perhaps I'll bring you something that will help you sleep and then you can at least say that I gave something back.

[ She gives him a wink and a smile as she rises from her seat to cross to the door. Neria closes it gently, less because of the conversation they're having now and...more because of what she wants to tell him. For all that the Wardens have become outcasts, dishonored by their own deeds, she respects some of their secrets--

Especially when such secrets could cause more harm than good, should they be known.

Returning to her seat, she's still smiling, though she carries back into the thread of discussion they had before as seamlessly as she can. ]

The Calling is how a Warden knows their time is up. What we carry within us, the reason why we can sense Darkspawn and fight like we do-- There are consequences. A shorter lifespan, terrible nightmares, a ghoulish appetite. The propensity to kill monsters again and again, unending. It isn't a glorious life.

[ Nothing is in Thedas, she's learned, but it's high time that someone knows the truth...if only so someone will know long after she is gone from this life. ]

The Calling-- It's hard to describe. You hear voices, you stop being able to sleep. You hear the call of the Archdemon, the Old Gods, and you feel compelled to answer it. We hear it during a Blight: a voice at the edges of your hearing, whispering, beckoning you. It is...like a song you cannot ignore, no matter how horrific it is to answer.
