[ Few people come to the glade for any reason but to hunt or to look for the wildflowers in the fields beyond, and it has served Carys' purpose well in that sense. She has no visitors, no trouble. While it is not much of a home it is better than nothing, this little ramshackle home she had found just three years ago in her travels, and though she has lived in it for some time she has gotten no closer to making it a true dwelling.
It, like her, is almost transient. The ceiling is full of dangling dried herbs and flowers, the hearth always clean and warming something to eat. The rest is barren and empty but for tools of the trade, the things she uses to garden, or the books she collects for her own means.
Today, she is out in the 'yard', as it were, using a short sickle to take up the plants she needs when something stirs in the forest close by. With care, she straightens and steps out of the dirt to look, and finds another woman emerging from the wood. It's a rare sight and she imagines she is only passing through, but she asks anyway: ]
